Inter-School Sport
In the annual rugby matches between Whakatane and Tauranga High Schools played at Tauranga yesterday Whakatane were unsuccessful in both games. Whakatane also took part in a Bay of Plenty College basketball tournament and lost only three'games. Results:— Rugby: Tauranga A 11 v Whakatane A 3, Tauranga B 32 v Whakatane 80. v .
Basketball: A teams, Whakatane lost to Tauranga 13—9, but beat Te Puke, Katikati and Waihi. B teams, Whakatane lost to Tauranga, drew with Katikati and beat Te Puke and Waihi. C teams, Whakatane beat Tauranga, Te Puke, Katikati and Waihi.
