Building Permits Eleven building permits to a total value of £2615 10s were issued last

month the building inspector, Mr F. W. Lysaght reported to the monthly meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council. Four permits were for garages, one for a commercial garage and one for a new dwelling. Additions to residences were three while two permits were for glass houses. Rugby Seating -Approved

The application of the Whakatane Rugby Sub-Union to erect 14 feet sections of three tiered seating on either side of No. 1 ground at Whakatane Field from 25 yard mark, to 25 has been approved by the Whakatane Domain Board, subject to the requirements of the building inspector and the borough foreman. It is also proposed to have a single seat surrounding the whole field. The seating is required for the Bay of plenty v Australian game on August 20.
