Successful Bowling Year Reviewed By Taneatua Club

The past year was. outstandingly successful both fiancially and from the players’ point of view, said the president, Mr W. Rixon, presenting his report at the annual meeting of the Taneatua Bowling Club, which received a record attendance. The standard of bowling had been consistently high and the club was successful in several competitions. In particular the champion singles and doubles competitions of the Eastern Bay of Plenty were won and this spoke well for the standard of play generally,' within the club.

Officers elected:— President, Mr W. A. Rixon; vicepresident, Mr G. W. Goodhew; secretary, M. J. Carpenter; treasurer, M. Goodhew; general committee, Messrs Lawn, Terrie, Rangi, Gardner, Foster, Green and Murphy; club coach, handicapper and selector, Mr R. Murphy; green superintendent, Mr T. Hunt; match committee, Messrs Hunt, Goodhew, Rixon; delegates to Bay of Plenty Centre, Messrs Torrie and Rixon; hon. auditor, Mr J. Moody.
