The bride entered the church with her father, wearing a charming gown of off-white slipper satin cut on classical lines. The bodice was finished with a shadow neckline of tulle and a lace Bertha collar. The sleeves were “leg of mutton” to the elbow and then tightfitting to the wrist, with a point over the back of band. Self covered buttons were used to finish the back. The full gathered skirt featured a point at the front and back of skift, and lace insets were used in the skirt and full train. The lovely embroidered tulle veil Was held to the head with orange blossoms.
The pretty trailing bouquet of white chrysanthemums, roses, jonquils and maiden hailr fern finished a charming bridal outfit. The bride was attended by her sister as bridesmaid, Miss Alice White, who worej a frock of Aquamarine, silver thread embossed satin. Elbow length scarlet mittens were worn and a scarlet shoulder length scarlet tulle veil was held in place with a spray of roses, geraniums and red leaves, and a bouquet of scarlet flowers and red leaves was carried.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr John Cranswick as best man. The wedding reception was held in the Waimana Hall, which had been nicely decorated by friends. Mr and Mrs White received a large number of guests, Mrs White wearing a smart plum wool suit and accessories to tone and a spray of spring flowers. The bridal table was daintily decorated with silver vases of salvia bon fire and the three-tiered wedding cake held pride of place.
