TEAMS TO PLAY TAURANGA ON SATURDAY
The weekly competitions of the Central Bay of Plenty Hockey Association have been proceeding steadily in the last few months and a distinct improvement in the standard of play has been noticeable. On Saturday a men’s and women’s teams will play Tauranga and the teams selected are:—
Women: J. Chummy, M./Stones, B. Norris, D. Thompson, M. Tunui, B. O’Brien, E. Stones (capt), E. Edwards, M. ,Haimona, F. Kereti, B. Newdick; emergencies, D. Stones M. Thompson.
Men: I. Jensen, M. Teipa, K. Civil (capt), B. Nuku, J. Griffin, R. Crapp, T. Ellis, A'. Corbett, B. Hill, M. Jensen, D. Bunyan; emergencies, N. Murphy, P. Gear. - '•> Any of, the players unable to attend are to contact the selector immediately. In the competition matches on Sunday only B grade games are to be played. The draw:— B Grade: Women: ‘Te Teko v Awakeri at Te Teko 1 p.m., Crooks and Brown, Huimai v Rangers at Edgecumbe 1 p.m., Lovegrove aaid Learning, Poroporo v Paroa at Paroa 1 p.m., Mrs Grey and Henderson.
Men: Te Teko v Wayfarers at Te Teko 2.15 p.m., Crooks and Brown, Poroporo v Paroa at Paroa 2.15 p.m., Mrs Grey and Henderson. Rangers a bye.
