Nht Superstitious Although most people will deny they are superstitious many will hestiate before walking under a ladder and that’s just what a number of wary individuals did at Whakatane on Friday. Workmen were repairing the roof of a verandah in the Strand, and had a ladder leaning from the gutter across the footpath to the roof. Several people walked around rather than under it. grOne man laughingly walked under g it from the street but unfortunately stubber his toe on the edge of the. footpath and sprawled forward to the amusement of passersby.
