Monthly Meeting Of Awakeri W.D.F.F.

A good attendance of members was presided over by Mrs N. Carter, newly elected president of the Awakeri Branch of Federated Farmers. Members expressed regret at the departure of Mrs N. Macdonald from their branch, and Mrs Luke on their behalf, presented Mrs Macdonald with a charming shoulder spray and two crystal vases. An interesting demonstration in smocking wae given by Mrs R. Sutton who was accorded a vote of thanks.

Competitions for the month were won by the following members: — Best flower, Mrs Arrol 1, Mrs Haultain 2, Mrs Roberts 3; best fruit, Mrs Roberts 1, Mrs N. Macdonald 2, Mrs D. Macdonald 3* best vegetable, Mrs Brizzle 1, Mrs D. Macdonald 2, Mrs L. Carter 3; bowl for autumn effect, Mrs L. Carter 1, Mrs Haultain 2.
