Rugby Seating For Whakatane Field

Plans for seating to accommodate 1400 spectators at the Whakatane Rugby field have been prepared by the Whakatane Rugby Sub-Union. In addition there will be standing room for about 3,000 people. Three tiered terraced seating will line either side" of the No. 1 field from 25 yard mark to 25 and will accommodate about 720. Other alternative seating is being used and will provide for about another 680 spectators. Work is going ahead immediately and it is hoped to be completed in about a month, in time for the Australia v Bay of Plenty match. Special stand accommodation is planned for press and broadcasting officials.
