MORE REFEREES NEEDED FOR GAMES

With a membership of ..12 the Whakatane Basketball Referees’ Association has now become established again. From present indications basketball is on the up grade at Whakatane and the standard of play appears to be improving steadily, even if slowly. To keep the game going more referees and players are needed. Referees are essential to the game and Whakatane is short of them. This is a chance for old basketball players to keep their connection with the sport by carrying on as referees. Anybody who is interested and willing to learn the rules can referee. It is a way of spending a Saturday afternoon out in the open and of assisting a very healthy sport. TOMORROW’S TEAMS
