New Broadcasting Station Opening

From 'July 2, when the new Hamilton broadcasting station IXH goes on the air officially for the first time at 8' p.m., radio listeners in the Bay of Plenty will have still ant 4 other station to which they may tune for an alternative programme. Although meant chiefly for listeners within a radius of from 30 to 40 miles of the transmitter it is probable that it‘will be received with good strength in the Bay of Plenty. With a power of 2 kilowatts (IYZ is 10 kilowatts) the station will transmit both commercial and ordinary national programmes from its 175 feet aerial mast at the junction of the Morrinsville and Rotorua roads.
