Hospital Patients

At the beginning of May there were 89 patients remaining in the Whakatane District Hospital, 38 males and 51 females, according to the monthly report of the medical superintendent, Dr E. T. Dawson, presented to the monthly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board. The total remained the same at the end of the month with one extra female and 37 males.

During the month there were 178 admissions, 61 males and 117 females, while the discharges totalled 169, 53 males and 116 females. There were nine deaths, all males and 50 births of which 24 were males.
