Ohope Series Of Social Evenings

Five Ohope organisations have got together and elected a social committee with the idea of running a series of social evenings at the beach, the first next Thursday night. Mr T. Danks has placed the Captain’s Cabin at the disposal of the committee one night a month for six months, and the bodies co-oper-ating are the Progress League, the Plunket Society, the Parent-Teacher Association, the Surf Club and the Women’s Institute. Though the evenings are primarily to provide entertainment for the people at the beach, profits, if any, will be divided amongst the bodies concerned. Dancing will play the most prominent part, but there will be card games for non-dancers, and the committee hopes to see the gatherings well patronised.
