TENT CATCHES FIRE

But for the quick work of a fellow camper one resident at the Whakatane Domain would probably have lost a tent and its contents by fire last night. While the owner was out of the tent for a few minutes a burning candle was blown over by the wind onto a sheet of paper. This soon caught alight and then caught onto the canvas, burning part of the tent before it was discovered and quickly extinguished by Mr J. Kennington, a fellow camper.
