Matawai Team Scoops Pool At Opotiki Dog Trials

Good entries in all events at the Opotiki Sheep Dog Trials included competitors from Whakatane > and surrounding districts, but none of the local dogs managed to get placed.

G. E. Wilson, Matawai, brought Over a strong team, headed by Ring, which was adjudged champion dog, champion huntaway and shared the honour of champion heading dog with his team mate, Face. Mr Willson’s dogs also won .the three dog and two' dog team events.

Judges were Messrs R. James, Gisborne (heading events), and Mr W. G. Butler, Opotiki (huntaways).
