MAORIS FAIL IN JACKSON SHIELD GAME v Although superior in both forwards and backs in most of the first half the Maoris fell to pieces in the second half and lost their chance of taking the Jackson Shield from the Pakehas at the Whakatane Domain on Saturday in the annual match. Pakehas finally went away with the match in the bag, winning \ by 20 to 8. The game was fast and there was some attractive football but many bad mistakes and faulty handling marred play generally.
