AUSTRALIA & STH. AFRICA TOURED BY N.Z. RUGBY TEAMS

(Kai ti-tiro)

At the present time New Zealand has two Rugby teams overseas, the Maori All Blacks in Australia and the other All Blacks of Pakeha players in South Africa. Both tours are being watched with interest although the team in South Africa does not play until May 31. For Bay of Plenty followers there is, perhaps, more interest in the Maori team as two local players, L. Reureti, Rangitaiki, and N. Delamere, Opotiki, are both members and important members of that team.

Maoris In Australia The Maori tour opens tomorrow with a match in Melbourne against Southern States. The following Saturday they meet New South Wales at Sydney. Following is the full draw:—

May 21 v Southern States at Melbourne; Wednesday, May 25 v A.C.T., at Canberra; Saturday, May 28 v New South Wales at Sydney; Wednesday, June 1 v Newcastle at Newcastle;* Saturday, June 4 v AUSTRALIA at Sydney; Wednesday, June 8 v New England at Armidaie; Saturday, June 11 v AUSTRALIA at Brisbane; Monday, June 13 v Queensland at Brisbane; Saturday, June 18 v New South Wales at Newcastle; Wednesday, June 22 v Central West at Orange; Saturday, June 25 v AUSTRALIA at Sydney.

South African Tour The tour of South Africa will be much longer and probably much harder. The test games,. there are four, will be watched with interest as whoever comes out on top in this tour will probably be regarded as the Rugby masters of the world. The full draw:—
