SIXTY MILLION TO ONE
An imperfect £1 Bank of England note, which had one square inch at the right-hand edge completely blank, turned up in a bank in Gneenock, on the Firth of Clyde, recently. The odds against such an occurrence are reckoned at sixty million to one. As the note had both serial numbers it is legal tender.
