ALLAN TROPHY MATCHES THIS WEEK Little golf was played on the Whakatane links on Sunday but an L.G.U. medal match played last Thursday and Saturday was completed. i Result:— Senior, Black 88 —13—75; junior. Otley 102—21—81. Draw for the Allan Trophy, matches to be played tomorrow and Saturday:— Tippett v Dewar, Winstone v Hall, Otley a bye, Luxton v McCowan, Symmans a bye, Burke v Breckon, Thomas a bye, Reardon v B. Butler, Roach v Smith, Dawson a bye, Otley v Fraser, Pearse a bye, Wilson v Grey, Stone v Grey, E. Armstrong v Combes, Baxter v R. Butler. ON WHAKATANE LINKS The first round of the sectional play for the Clarke and Reynolds Cups was. played on Saturday last and a good muster of members competed. A Bogey match played in conjunction resulted in a win for I. A. Wylds, 2 up, who returned the very good card of 73. Another good card was returned by T. W. Burke

77 —9-r-68 resulting m his handicap being reduced to 8. The second round of sectional play will commence next Saturday and all second round matches should be completed by the following Saturday.
