Power Disrupted
Ripped from a tree by a strong wind at Edgecumbe a piece of flying bark whipped round a power line supplying power to Whakatane at about nine o’clock last night and disrupted the flow of electricity to the borough and the immediate surrounding district for a considerable period. The fault was later discovered by linesmen and the bark was burnt off.
There were several faults to the power lines during the night but most of them were of a minor nature and the trouble was caused chiefly by branches and parts of trees blown about by a strong wind.
