Timber Workers Farewell Colleague

Tunnicliffe’s Timber Co’s staff, with their wives and families from Edgecumbe, V/aiohau and Rotoma, gathered in Mr Walsh’s tearooms, Edgecumbe, on Saturday evening to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs Woollett and family. Throughout the evening, dancing and singing were in full swing, whilst Mr Samuel’s items of conjuring and ventriloquism were very much appreciated. After ah enjoyable supper, presentations were made by Mr Sim, on behalf of the Tauranga and Te Puke builders, and Mr K. Tunnicliffe on behalf of the staff, 'to which Mr Woollett very suitably replied. Among those giving items were Miss Huish, Mr Lopdell, Mr Blake and Mr Cook.

“Auld Lang Syne” brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.
