W.I. To Have New Meeting Place

A letter . from the Methodist Church Trust intimated, to the April meeting* of the Whdkatane WJ. that improvements were to be oarried but in the hall, after which it was to be used solely for Church activities. It was resolved therefore to hold future meetings in the Parish Hall. Delegates appointed to attend the Council meeting at Ppotiki were. Mesdames Fennell and Stewart. Two new members were enrolled. Mrs Stewart gave as the Golden Thread the history of Pitcairn Island. The roll call “Dressmaking, hints or problems” was well responded to, and the hints received' should prove of great help to home! dressmakers.

Two items by the Glee Circle, “When Daisies Pied” and “Early One Morning” were followed a humorous sketch. Competitions proved popular. A parade of cellophane hats (to. be worn at the meeting),, showed much style and ski)l in the making, Another competition was a “decorated Easter egg” and . many ingenious decorations were made. The trading stall was well patronised and was in charge., of -Mesdames Murphy and Print. Hostesses ’for the afternoon were Mesdames Albiston, E. Armstrong, S. Armstrong, Back, Barker, Bridger, Buddie and; Burgess. • ,
