Shooting

LARGE ATTENDANCE TO ' NEW CLUB SHOOT There was a large attendance to the fortnightly evening shoot of the Whakatane Legion of Frontiersmen and Miniature Rifle Club on Thursday night when about 40 shoo’ters entered the competition. . Some good shots were registered, the best, being a commendable 48 of a possible 50 by C. Bathe. This score was two ahead of A. Brgdshaw’s 46.

The club has recently been formed by uniting the old miniature rifle club with the Legion of Frontiersmen and from Thursday night’s shoot, indications are that the club is going to have a big membership. There were a number of women shooting and the club is encouraging more to take up the sport. With this in mind tuition classes have been started before, the competitions commence on shoot nights. Thursday night’s results:—
