Ohope Visited By J’s. P. Delegates

A number of delegates, who are attending the annual conference of the New Zealand Justices of the Peace Association at Tauranga, were entertained at a luncheon at Ohope when they visited Whakatane yesterday, by local Justices of the Peace.

During the luncheon they were welcomed by the Mayor of Whakatane, Mr B. S. Barry, and a delegate from Stewart Island replied on behalf of the visitors. Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., attending the Magistrate’s Court at Whakatane, was also a guest.

Mr Les Brown spoke on behalf of the Whakatane Justices of the Peace.

After the luncheon the visitors walked about the beach and later in the afternoon visited the Whakatane Board Mills. They returned to Tauranga early last evemm?.
