Negligent Driving Charge Dismissed

In the Magistrate’s Court at WhaLatane yesterday, Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., dismised a negligent driving charge brought by the police against Pompey Thompson, Road Services truck driver (Mr G. Otley). \ Police evidence led by Constable R. F. Julian, was that Leonard Fran-

cis McKenzie, driving another truck was about to pass the Road Services wagon Thompson had angle-parked in King Street when it pulled out from the kerb. In trying to avoid a collision, McKenzie applied both foot and hand brakes. He was knocked out and received injuries necessitating seven weeks in hospital when his truck hit the kerb and he struck his head against the steering wheel. Thompson said .he had not seen the other truck at all.
