RANGITAIKI PLAY OPENS ) ON APRIL 30 Five senior and four junior teams? were nominated for competition during the coming season, at the annual meeting of the Rangitaiki Rugby sub-union at Edgecumbe last Wednesday. This will probably mean a bye for one senior team each week, and to get play under way as soon as possible it was decided to commence the competition on April 30. Thanks to officials, referees and the St John Ambulance for their assistance during last' season was expressed by the president, * Mr A. Robins, in his annual report. He referred to the performance of the Rangitaiki Senior B team, which had been successful in defending the Moore Shield against all challengers. ; After discussing a report from,Mr T. Anderson, chairman of the selection committee, it was decided to have three selectors for senior and junior teams. Officers elected:—

Patron, Mr A. C. Robins; president, Mr B. Magee; vice-presidents, Messrs C. Eivers, H. S. Mexted, H. L. Anderson, F. Burt, all club presidents, president of the Association, president of the Primary Schools’ Association; committee, Messrs T. Anderson, O. Lord, W. Coates; secretary-treasurer, Mr C. E. Thompson; delegates to the Bay of Plenty Union, Messrs Lord and Thompson; auditor, Mr A. Graham.
