Transport Licenses Granted At This Week’s Sitting .
The following applications were granted by the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority, Mr E. J. Phelan in the Whakatane Court on Tuesday:—
Brabant Bros., Ltd., Whakatane, application for renewal of continuous goods service license, with restrictions.
A. A. Sykes and J. W. Paterson, Matata, renewal of continuous goods license and one additional vehicle authority for general goods for the Whakatane County and Borough. T. H. Anderson, Edgecumbe, renewal of goods service license and suspension of lift authority. H. Nuku, Murupara, renewal of goods service license and right to run daily trips from and to Edgecumbe with timber, backloading general goods. Application for a new goods service license for mail only between Matata and Pikowai. Ohope Transport Co., Ltd., Whakatane, extension of bus service to Wainui and Cheddar Vallies. J. McComb and Co. Ltd., Whakatane, extension of passenger service with right to run on Friday nights and as required, alternative routes, (1) Ruatoki to Whakatane via Opouriao Road to Taneatua and thence via Main Highway to Whakatane; (2) Ruatoki to Whakatane via Opouriao Road to Taneatua then across Whakatane River and via Pekatahi, Rewatu Road and Rateno’s Corner to Whakatane.
■ Bay of Plenty Hospital Board, Whakatane ambulance service extended to any part of the North Island as required. J. A. Allan, Whakatane, transfer to J. A. Allan and W. S. Henderson, Whakatane. and one additional vehicle authority for x contracts south of the Waitemata County. Decisions Reserved
Decisions were reserved in the following cases: Hall and Stewart, Ltd., Whakatane, application for an additional general goods vehicle authority to cover Whakatane, Opotiki and Rotorua Counties and Boroughs. (Objection by the Opotiki Carriers’ Association).
Geyser Carrying Co. Ltd., Rotorua, application for extension of its carrying license to the Whakatane, Tauranga and Taupo Counties.
