Supervised Farming Develops Land

supervised farming of second class land could increase production was claimed by Mr L. H. Brown, ex-supervisor of the Maori Land Development scheme, in a talk to the Whakatane Rotary Club on, Tuesday night. This had been proved by the development of Maori land under the Maori Department’s land scheme.

Mr Brown produced figures to prove the rise in production of undeveloped land that had been brought about under such schemes. The results achieved by the settling of ex-servicemen on land, he considered, boded well for the future of New Zealand, farming. At the conclusion of Mr Brown’s address he was thanked by Rotarian E. T. Dawson. .
