Bees Are Attracted By Hair Oil

Country workers and participants in summer sports are sometimes plagued by bees which buzz around evidently intent on settling on exposed parts of the body. The invariable response is a slap at the bee which, being annoyed, may inflict a painful sting. Prevention of these unwelcome attentions is easy; place a dish or two of water in the vicnity. Bees are thirsty creatres in hot weather and if there is no water about they are attracted to perspiration. If a saucer of water is handy they will slake their thirst there and leave the humans alone. A great attraction for bees is perfumed hair dressing. Even the faint aroma of scented soap seems to draw them and it is asking for trouble to go near a hive when one has used perfumed hair oil.
