Watch Sheep During March
Lambs fattening on grass should be kept going by constant changes on to fresh feed, and pastures should be kept fresh and clean. Lambs on rape should be changed on to a clean break every fortnight. A watch should be kept for scald and' parasites so that preventive measures can be taken immediately. If store .lambs are brought in for fattening they should be dipped, crutched. drenched for parasites, and kept on feed by themselves for at least a fortnight. Before the ewes are put with the rams tails should be clipped clean, and after rams have been with the ewes two or three weeks additional young fresh rams should be put out. Measures to control foot-rot should be carried out this month. Every sheep in the flock should be handled and all feet showing signs of foot-rot should be isolated and treated. All sheep should be run through a bluestone .bath periodically.
