R.S.A. Smoko Was A Success
One of the best functions yet held by the Whakatane Returned Services’ Association drew an attendance of about 150 to the annual smoko in the Winter Show Buildings on Saturday night. There were several visitors from outside the district including a number of shooters who were attending the North Island Clay Bird Championships at Paroa. Main toast list:—
Loyal toast, D. S. Wilson; R;S.A., D. S. Wilson—J. Stewart; kindred services, J. Keesy; Silent toast, J. Neacken; nursing services, L. M. Roach—P. J. Green.
Items were given by K. Jarrett. T. Warner and several visitors.
