Increase Of Power Quota To Supply Radio IYZ Rotorua

To supply power for the new Bay of Plenty broadcasting station, IYZ Rotorua, which opens next month, the Tauranga Electrical Power Board’s quota is being increased by 4815 units weekly, according to recent advice from the Electricity Controller, Mr A. E. Davenport. Mr Davenport explained that the question of electricity supply to IYZ had been under discussion with the National Broadcasting Service and arrangements had been made for the energy required by IYZ to be provided by a corresponding amount being conserved by other broadcasting stations. An allowance of units amounting to 4815 units weekly would be credited to the board upon supply being made to the IYZ station.
