WEEK-END RESULTS ON WHAKATANE GREEN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP: Four more rounds of the Singles Championship were. played on Saturday and this competition has now reached the semi-final stage. Results, from sixth round:—• C. W. Good (with two lives), defeated R. Stewart (one life); A. C. King d A. Carling; L. Berg d T. Duley. Seventh Round: Good a bye; Berg d King. The semi-final between Good and King will be played today. JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP (Colts): Four rounds of the junior championship were played on Saturday, some surprises and dark horses were revealed as the day advanced. Results (from third round on): Two Lifers, Smart d Grahame. One Lifers, McDonald d Dawson; Atkinson d Rivet! Fourth Round: Smart (two lifer) d McDonald (one lifer); Grahame d Atkinson.

The game between Grahame and Atkinson was a close go and the last end commenced with Atkinson wanting three to win. Atkinson drew three shots and had a back bowl for safety but Grahame elected to drive with his last bowl and removed two of Atkinson’s counters to win the game one up.
