Hospital Statistics

Nearly twice the number of females were admitted to the Whakatane hospital during February than males according to the monthly report of the medical superintendent, Dr E. T. Dawson, All together a total of 133 patients were admitted, 88 being females. As against this however, of the total number discharged 96 were females and 50 males. There were only four deaths, all of them males. There were 41 births, 19 male and 22 female. At the end of February there were 76 patients in the hospital, 34 male and 42 female.
