What Happened To Galatea's Jerseys?
Galatea residents are still trying to,work out what happened to their Jersey herds about Christmas time .—the result of an article on Galatea and surrounding districts which appeared in a weekly paper on February 16. The writer appears to have got some wonderful information about Galatea from somewhere but the remark which hit the “Galatians” and 'sent them reeling was this:
“Visiting this district at Christmas I saw it at what was probably the best time of the year, but at that period both sheep and Friesian dairy cattle looked first class. Apparently the winters are too severe to suit Jersey cows.” The only feasible is in the writer’s admission that it was Christmas when he saw these herds, and perhaps it was the Christmas spirit which caused him to have spots before the eyes.
There are NO Friesian herds in Galatea—they are all Jerseys!
