WHAKATANE CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING At its annual meeting last week, t the Whakatane Hockey Club decid- i ed in favour of Saturday play for. the coming season, even if it should,, mean extensive travelling, and also n pledged itself to do all it could to, foster hockey amongst school teams.; I. Wyatt was congratulated on his selection to represent New Zealand in Australia and Fiji, and last. season’s activities were reviewed approvingly by the president, Mr N. E. Rigden. Election of officers: Patron, Mr. W. Howat; president, Mr N. E. Rig-' den; vice-presidents, Messrs W., Tysson, F. Abbott, C. L. Hudson, F. Milne, R. Whittle, C. S. Armstrong; secretary, Mr J. Stringer; club captain, Mr N. H. Rigden; management committee, Mesdames Archer and Chamberlain, Messrs P. Hammond* Hunter and R. Cox. Last year’s secretary, Mr W. A. R. Stewart, was elected an honorary life member.
