COMPETITION WAS KEEN AT FIRST THORNTON SHOW

Organised by the local Women’s Institute the first Thornton show held in the hall on Saturday was a great success. Competition was keen in most sections and the judges commented very favourably on the standard of the work displayed. Entries were particularly good in the preserves and needlework, and the flowers and decorative classes made a very colourful display. The school children’s colour work made a bright show on one wall.
