New Road Grader Delivered To The Whakatane County
A valuable addition to the present machinery, the new 12-ton Caterpillar diesel driven road grader. They were delivered through ty Council seme time ago, arrived at Whakatane on Thursday after a long road journey from Auckland. Two similar machines for the Rotorua and Opotiki County Councils came with the Whakatane grader. They were deliver through Gough, Gough and Hamer, Ltd. * With a length of 24ft. llin., and a height of 7ft. 4in., these graders are the second biggest of their type available—and are American-buil.t Tandem-driven, the four rear wheels carry a weight of 13.7301 b., while the smaller front wheels, which are designed to “angle-drive” cn curves, bear a v T eight. of's6oolb. The width of the vehicles is 7ft. lOin. Fuel consumption is one gallon an hour .and top speed is 17 m.p.h.
