HEALTHY SKIN IS NECESSARY FOR A GOOD MAKE UP

To assist Whakatane women to take care of their skin and to give advice on how to apply a good make up a London-trained beauty specialist, Miss Beatrice O’Malley, is at present paying a short visit to the town. Travelling for a well-known cosmetic firm, Miss O’Malley has just returned to New Zealand after studying the latest beauty preparations in England and Australia. The chief aim of her visit, Miss O’Malley told the Beacon, wasvto assist women in acquiring a good make up. No two skins were the

same and before any woman could expect to have a decent make up it was necessary to find what cosmetics were suitable to her particular skin. “Of course,” she added, “a good complexion comes first from a healthy, well nourished skin free from blemishes and discolouration. This provides the foundation for a good make up.” ! , . Miss O’Malley said that the weather played havoc with the skin. The sea air could be very hard, but using the proper creams it was not difficult to give some measure of ■protection. Miss O’Malley will be in Whakatane until Friday/ when she leaves for Wairoa. .
