Electors May Vote By Post
Electors who are temporarily away from the electorate in which they are registered and unable to return before the close of the poll should remember that facilities for absent voting are available for the Gaming and Licensing Polls on Wednesday on off-course betting and hotel closing hours. People who wish to record an absent vote, says the Electoral Department, may do so at any of the authorised polling places. These facilities are not available for voting on the local licensing and restoration issues in the King Country and the Ashburton and Geraldine areasc Electors of those areas who know that they will not be able to vote in their own areas should apply now to their own Returning Officer for postal voting facilities for their local polls.
