Field Fly Pest
A plague of field flies, large and persistent insects, has nearly driven "to distraction dairy farmers on the Heretaunga Plains. The newcomer is an outsize of the ordinary housefly. A swarm of attendant flies foN lows the unfortunate stock from place to place and only at nightfall do the animals find any relief. Several dairy farmers have found that spraying their cows with a permanganate solution provides temporary Telief.
