There is a chance, and a good one at that, that it might be possible to stage an afternoon meeting before the end of the season. Ray Dawson At It Again

Consistent competitor at the Whakatane Athletic Club’s evening practice meetings, and prominent middle distance runner in the Rotorua Club, Ray Dawson brings fresh distinction to this district every time he turns out in good company.

At the Waikato Championships on Saturday he ran second to M. Marshall in the half mile, won in 1.59 1-10. Dawson has been selected to represent the Waikato Centre at the New Zealand Championships at Christchudch on March 11 and 12. The team leaves by air from Hamilton on March 10.

Dawson also recently lowered the Rotorua Club’s 880 yards record from 2.10 to 2.5 2-5, running unpaced. He now holds both the 1,000 yards and 880 yards records at Rotorua.
