NON-STOP VAUDEVILLE SHOW COMING HERE NEXT WEEK

Non-stop vaudeville, presented with georgeous settings, is the feature of Barton’s Follies, showing in the Grand Theatre, Whakatane, next Monday and Tuesday evenings. It is a rare experience for local theatre patrons to see a full stage show so spectacularly presented.

Frocking of the women members of the company is fresh and varied. From the bright opening by the orchestra the, show goes along at a brisk tempo, with plenty of good, robust humour provided by Vera Dunne, Bonnie Barton, Willie Berrigan, Hal Lennon, Muddy Morley, Jerry Keogh and Colin Gerald in a number of snappy sketches. A team of smart girls, led by Val Jellay, provides many ballets besides doing bits in the song scenes, their frocking being most colourful.

The specialty turns are some of the finest seen in the Dominion, Jandy, the famous French musical clown, being outstanding. There will be a complete change of programme each night.—P.B.A.
