“Nice Goings On” Draws Good Crowd At Grand Theatre

A packed house welcomed the George Tollerton show, “Nice Goings On”, at the Grand Theatre, Whakatane, last night. The special afternoon show for the children was also well-attended, and in both cases the entertainment was well up to the Tollerton standard. Outstanding stars of the English and Australian stage included Eric Cameron (The “Tobruk Rat”), Dinks

Patson, Trixie Ireland, Bud Budden, Thelma Carn, Babs MacKinnon, Allen Van and George Tollerton himself. Of them all Eric Cameron, versatile paro'dist, proved most popular. From start to finish the show had a sparkling brightness that carried the audience with it into a mood of gay appreciation.
