Wedding

HEAD—GROVER

Some 300 guests attended thewedding on Thursday last of Miss Merle Grover, Waimana, to Mr Arthur Head, Whakatane, ijn the Presbyterian Church, Waimana. Rev. HI Hogg performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, was beautifully gowned in long waisted, square necked frock with bodice of white lace, and very full, skirt of georgette with a wide edging of lace on the georgette train. The embroidered tulle veil fell from a coronet of orange blossom, and her bouquet was of white blooms. She was attended by two matrons-of-honour, her sisters, Mrs W. J. McKenzie and Mrs E. McGillivray. They also wore georgette, a most attractive shade of lime green—With wide necklines, very full skirts, and full sleeves gathered into long light cuffs buttoning to the wrists. Their hair sprays and bouquets in cyclamen shades were a most effective accent. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Bert Norman as best man, Mr Aubrey Theobald acting as groomsman. The guests were received at the Waimana Hall by the bride’s mother Mrs D. Grover, in a navy ensemble with hat to match, and shoulder spray in clover shades; and the bridegroom’s sister, Mrs L. Waterman, in an attractive floral jersey with black accessories and autumn toned spray. The usual toasts were honoured, the health of the bride and bridegroom being proposed by Mr N. Eagle. x The bride left for her honeymoon wearing a charming powder blue frock with nigger accessories. Mr and Mrs Head will make their future home at Whakatane.
