Sudden Death Of WellKnown Sportsman
Well-known horseman and keen follower, of the Hunt, Mr Thomas (Sonny) Williams collapsed and died suddenly at Edgecombe yesterday. Mr Williams, a State’Hydro Electricity Department employee, had lived at Edgecumbe for the past seven years, and was popular throughout the district. He had been swimming in the Rangitaiki River at the back of the substation yesterday with members of his family, and had lost some ashore preparatory to going home When he collapsed. He leaves a widow and family of six.
