Early Feeding Out Essential
The final paragraph of Mr E. R. Marryatt’s article on saving winter grass in the autumn for winter feeding which appeared in Monday’s issue was inadvertantly omitted in publication. We publish it below. “Feeding out normally begins when the pastures have been grazed bare. This is far too late. It is like giving a patient a blood transfusion after he has been allowed t© bleed to death. To grow winter grass, feeding out must begin some weeks before it actually becomes necessary. Only in this way can fields be closed while the grass is still growing: and only bv closing fields while the grass is still growing can we grow winter grass.”
