Too Shocking For Television
The 8.8. C. says that what is “reasonable” in a Paris cabaret show cannot be televised for English listeners. It drew up a new kind of contract before televising a Paris cabaret show recently. The contract stipulated that all girls appearing in the show had to wear brassieres. The girls, from the famous Lido Cabaret in the Champs Elysees, flew to London for the show, which cost £ISOO. It was- the costliest show the 8.8. C. had ever imported. Mademoiselle Bluebell, who accompanied the troupe, said that in Paris some of the girls appeared with their chests free. “That is reasonable in a.Paris show.” she added. The Lido management—and the girls—were slightly . surprised by the 8.8.C.’s request, but bowed to its insistence.
