Fines For Traffic Offences
A number of .prosecutions, mainly for overloading of heavy vehicles, were brought before Mr E : . L. Walton, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday by the Whakatane County’s,, traffic inspector, Mr A. Carling. The following penalties were imposed:— R. F. C. Currie, operating a multiaxled truck with an excessive load, £2 and costs £1 13s; having no warrant of fitness for the same vehicle, 10s, costs 22s 6d. C. Honeycombe, overloading a multi-axled truck, £2 and costs £1 17s. E. J. McKay, operating a car with no current driving license, ss, costs 18s. C. H. MacDonald, overloading a multi-axled truck, £2, costs £2 Is.. H. A. Orr, operating a car without a current warrant of fitness, 10s, costs £1 0s 6d. Penny, overloading a multi,*axled truck, £2, costs £1 11s. H. L. Skiffington, operating a car with no warrant of fitness, 10s, costs £1 0s 6d; J. G. Smeaton, similarly charged, 10s, costs £1 7s 6d. P. L. Wakelin, operating a motorcycle with no warrant of fitness 10s, costs £1 6s 6d; having no driver’s license, ss, costs 10s.
