At a meeting of the Foxton Borough Council, Cr Small said that there were between eight and ten State houses ready for occupation locally and he thought the council should take some steps to see that they were filled without delay, as tfye council was not deriving any rates from the properties while the houses were empty. The clerk was instructed to write to the State Advances Housing Department on the matter.
