Cars By Weight
A dealer in Buffalo (New York State) is buying used cars by the' pound. For 1947 model Chevrolets Fords and Plymouths he’s paying 68£ cents' (4/3) a pound, which is less than the price of bacon or butter. Cars of 1946 vintage bring 51 cents a pound, and so it goes down the years dropping cents by the way.
